I. The reality of sin
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Ro.3: 23
(This verse contains a sort of indictment against humanity).
The indictment is always notified to the accused; the presumption of innocence requires and enables him to prepare his defense. But who can say he had not done, said or thought bad things? The
Bible calls these things unworthy "sin", and our sins separate us from God. Thus, the sinful world is guilty before God.
How to escape the sentence (anger) of God?
STEP 1: We must recognize that we are
sinners.
The Bible says: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1: 8
II. The sentence of God
"The wages of sin is death." Ro.6: 23
(Indeed, sin leads to the death penalty, spiritual and physical).
Say to them: I am alive! Says the Lord GOD, what I want is not that the wicked should die but that he should change his ways and live. Come back, come back from your evil ways, and why should you
die? Ez. 33: 11
STEP 2: We must confess our sins and give up.
The Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1: 9
III. The plan of God's salvation for mankind: The atoning death of Christ!
The Bible says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3: 16
what God was ready to give to humanity (salvation) can only completed on the Cross. He gave what He loved most: His Son.
STEP 3: We must believe in Jesus Christ.
Indeed, the new birth is a prerequisite for faith in Christ crucified. The Bible says: "But to all who received him, to those who believe in His name, He gave power to become children of God"
(John 1: 12).
IV. Receive Jesus.
STEP
4: We must receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, and invite him to reign in our lives.
God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; he who hath not the Son of God hath not life. 1 John 5:11-12
We
suggest this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I need you. I repent of life I have led away from you, and ask your forgiveness. Thank you for dying on the cross to atone for my sins. I think you are the Son of God, and I receive you now as my Savior and Lord. I pledge to follow you all my life. Amen
Did you sincerely say that prayer?
